Testknitters wanted for the Fairylights cardigan!

How about a bright and light Cardigan for chilly summer nights? And what if I told you it was 99% seamless? Sounds good, right?

The Fairylights cardigan is indeed worked top-down with raglan increases along the upper body until the sleeves and body are split and worked separately. A delicate lace pattern – the fairylights pattern – decorates the sleeves all the way down, ending in a simple garter stitch binding at 2/3 length.

The body, on the other hand, is knit in simple stockinette stitch. The buttonbands with the buttonholes are worked simultaneously along the front edges of the body. The slightly rounded neckline is formed by using short rows right after the neckline binding.

This pattern combines techniques such as short rows, raglan increases and buttonhole shaping which are all explained in the introduction, to make it accessible to newer knitters.

The Fairlylights cardigan shown above was knit using Fibre Co.’s Canopy fingering, a super soft alpaca-wool-viscose blend.

The testknit is open for beginners as well as more advanced knitters, since my aim is always to design in a way that is accessible to everyone. Deadline of the testknit : July 30, 2021.
