Exciting news for knitters! 🎉 My latest knitting pattern, the Lethed Sweater, is featured in the Spring issue of Making Stories Magazine! If you’re a knitting enthusiast looking for new inspiration, this is the design you’ve been waiting for.

In the Spring 2025 issue, Making Stories Magazine explored the theme of confetti and rainbows. This theme may seem simple at first glance, but it presented a challenge when I set out to create the Lethed Sweater. I wanted to incorporate the essence of bright colors, curves, and joyful playfulness, while keeping in line with the unique aesthetic of Making Stories. Instead of going for traditional bright stripes or bobbles, I chose to explore the theme through texture, shapes, and a combination of yarns that complement the light, playful vibe of the design.
Design Features of the Lethed Sweater
The Lethed Sweater showcases simple yet stunning design elements. Key features include:
- Garter Stitch Stripes: These stripes add a unique visual texture to the sweater, enhancing the overall design.
- Curved Details: A folded hem and elongated neck provide a touch of elegance and softness.
- Top-Down Construction: This design is worked seamlessly from the top down, ensuring no seams and a smooth, comfortable fit.
The sweater begins with a twisted rib high collar, followed by raglan increases to form the upper body. The body is knit in stockinette stitch, while the sleeves feature continuous garter stitch panels. The sleeve finish includes a distinctive fold that hides the garter stitch—created with a clever stitch technique that gives the design a beautifully sculptural finish. The wristband is worked in twisted rib, adding a clean and neat finish.

Yarn Choices for the Lethed Sweater
For this design, I combined two luxurious yarns from Pascuali to achieve a soft, breathable feel. The yarns used in the Lethed Sweater include:
- Puno Winikunka: A cotton-alpaca blend (70% organic cotton, 30% alpaca), which provides a natural, lightweight structure.
- Manada: A mohair-silk-merino-yak blend (45% mohair, 25% silk, 15% merino, 15% yak) that brings softness, sheen, and warmth.
I worked the sweater using 4.5 mm needles, which ensures the perfect balance between structure and drape.

Why You’ll Love the Lethed Sweater
- Customizable Fit: The top-down construction allows you to adjust the length of the sweater to suit your preferences, making it a highly customizable design.
- Comfortable and Stylish: The loose, slightly oversized fit is both flattering and cozy.
- Versatile and Elegant: Whether you’re a beginner or an experienced knitter, the Lethed Sweater will add a stylish touch to your wardrobe and is perfect for any season.
