One of my favourite rituals from last year is back: monthly knitting lunches in Luxembourg City.
These lunches are intentionally simple. No sign-up, no fixed programme, no pressure. Just a table (or two), a coffee, a knitting or crochet project, and a shared moment of calm in the middle of a busy workday.
Whether you work in town, live nearby, or just happen to be around at lunchtime, you’re warmly invited to join — even if it’s only for 20 minutes.
What is a knitting lunch?
The idea is straightforward:
- we meet once a month
- between 12:00 and 14:00
- in a local café in Luxembourg City
- you come for as long (or as short) as your lunch break allows
There’s no participation fee — simply order something from the café and settle in.
Some people come alone, some meet friends, some leave with new knitting acquaintances.
Knitters, crocheters & curious creatives welcome
Although I’m a knitter myself (and fairly hopeless at crocheting 😉), these lunches are open to everyone:
- knitters
- crocheters
- beginners
- experienced makers
- people who just enjoy being around yarn and conversation
The atmosphere is informal and multilingual — very Luxembourg-style. Between Luxembourgish, German, French, English (and the occasional language crossover), we always find a common ground.
This is not a class and not a teaching session — it’s a social moment. Bring your own project, your curiosity, and your lunch-break energy.
Dates for the first half of the year
Here are the confirmed dates for the upcoming months:
- 28 January
- 25 February
- 25 March
- 29 April
- 27 May
- 24 June
The first knitting lunch will take place at Holy Ghost Garden — the flower shop & café in Luxembourg City.
For the following months, we may explore different cafés and locations.
👉 Best way to stay updated:

Do I need to register?
No registration is required.
If you have a question, feel free to send me a DM on Instagram, but otherwise you can simply show up.
Think of it as an open invitation: come when you can, stay as long as you like, and make space for a small creative pause in the middle of the day.
I’m really looking forward to seeing familiar faces again — and meeting new ones.
