Just make sure that the yarn you have chosen works well with the cable pattern and overall style of the shawl. The Bretagne shawl is an asymmetric triangle shawl, with a delicate one-stitch cable pattern worked over the first panel of the shawl which forms a beautiful edge on the front as you wear it. The yarn chosen for this pattern is BC Garn’s Semilla mélange (GOTS 100% wool) which feels soft and comfortable on the skin, yet allows for the delicate details to stand out neatly. The yarn also makes for a very light shawl, so it can easily be worn throughout the year, for example for cool summer evenings as well.
The model pictured measures 120 x 170 cm (47.25 x 67”). If you wish to make it larger, or on the contrary, smaller, you can easily do so by simply adapting the number of repeats of the pattern made, then switching to the final binding once you have reached the desired length.
